Four cadres of the outlawed National Democratic Front of Bodoland were gunned by security forces in two separate 'encounters' in the state early on Friday morning even as the operation against the outfit has been intensified in the state on intelligence inputs about its plan to trigger blasts in different parts of the state.
A security source informed that three NDFB cadres were killed by the Army in an encounter that took place at 0530 hrs, on Friday at Kachuigaon, 20 kilometers away from Gossaigaon town in western Assam's Kokrajhar district. The Army claimed to have recovered a huge quantity of arms from the slain militants.
One more NDFB cadre was killed in a separate gun battle by the Army at Hathigate in Sonitpur district of North Assam at around 0330 hrs on
