A Bharatiya Janata Party leader was on Wednesday shot dead by Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district, police said.
BJP leader Budhara Sodi was shot from a close range by three armed Maoists outside his ancestral house in Keralapal village, Inspector General R K Vij said.
Sodi, who was visiting his ancestral house to attend a marriage function, was attacked by the trio with country-made revolvers, Vij said, adding further investigations were on.
