Eight cops killed by Naxalites in Bengal

Eight security personnel were killed on Wednesday in Belpahari in West Bengal when Naxalites of the People's War and the Maoist Communist Centre triggered off a landmine blast.

Five Eastern Frontier Rifles were among those

killed. The blast was triggered off in the dense forest of Belphari in West Bengal's border with Jharkhand.

The other deceased were two state police officials and driver of the jeep in which they were moving towards Kankrajhar at about 12.30 pm.
