In his first visit to Britain after assuming office, External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh will meet his British counterpart Jack Straw in London on June 16.
Singh will undertake the 'short transit visit' to London where a meeting with Straw is envisaged, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna told reporters in Delhi on Tuesday.
The minister will be travelling to London from Geneva where he has convened a meeting of 40 Indian Heads of Missions for wide-ranging consultations on expanding bilateral relations and other issues.
He has already held discussions here with Indian envoys from SAARC and ASEAN countries besides calling Indian ambassadors in Iraq and Afghanistan for a first-hand assessment of the developments in these countries.
Making Nepal his first foreign destination last week, Singh had met King Gyanendra and new Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and conveyed India's willingness to help the Himalayan Kingdom in combating the Maoist violence.
Singh will be visiting China for the two-day meeting of foreign ministers of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue involving 20 countries from June 21.
