Amid continuing factional clashes among Naga rebel groups, the Khaplang faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland has threatened to pull out of the eight-year-old truce with the government of India protesting 'lack of sincerity' on part of the latter in addressing the issues of the outfit.
The Naga rebel group is furious over the 'Centre's attempt to neutralise it in collusion with its rival faction -- NSCN (Isak-Muivah)'.
A spokesman of the NSCN-K, K Mulatonu, informed media persons that top brass of the rebel group, including chairman S S Khaplang and general secretary Kitovi Jhimomi, were seriously weighing the option of breaking the truce with the government of India due to 'indifferent attitude' of the Centre in dealing with issues of the NSCN-K.
The outfit has been in ceasefire with government of India since April 2001, but is yet to have its first round of parleys with the Centre. Rival NSCN-IM faction has so
far held several rounds of talks with the government of India, though without much headway.
