India on Saturday said there was "enough evidence" to continue investigation against Jamaat-ud Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed in connection with the Mumbai attacks even as it finalised response to the latest set of questions sent by Pakistan.

The Home Ministry on Friday finalised its response to the queries from Pakistan and sent it to the Ministry of External Affairs which will hand it over to the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram told mediapersons.

"Yesterday, the Home Ministry has finalised the response to the latest set of questions sent by Pakistan in connection with the Mumbai attacks," he said. The response runs into seven pages with annexures, he added.

Asked about the nature of the questions, Chidambaram said they were "routine" queries like "fill in the blanks" type. On Saeed, the Lashker-e-Tayiba founder whom India has identified as the prime accused in the Mumbai attacks, Chidambaram said New Delhi has provided "enough evidence" against the JuD chief in three dossiers it gave to Islamabad.

"There is enough evidence to continue probe against Saeed," he said.
