Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Pakistan's Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry are among five eminent personalities who have been chosen for the prestigious International Jurists Award 2012.
Yadav and Chaudhry will be presented the awards on May 28 at a ceremony in London by Right Hon'ble Lord Phillips, President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.
Besides the two eminent personalities, International Bar Association President Akira Kawamura, Stephen B Huttler and Christophe Eck will also be presented the awards, a press release from International Council of Jurists said.
Yadav's biography -- Mulayam Singh Yadav -- Harbinger of Social Justice -- written by eminent author Sarah Booth will also be released on the occasion.
While Yadav was chosen for this award for his "unflinching contribution" to the advancement of the bar and the bench, Justice Chaudhry has been selected for his unique and substantial contribution in the field of administration of justice and for tireless and fearless endeavours towards administration of justice in the country against all odds, the release said.Parliament@60: Uninspiring political theatre
