The Punjab police on Friday registered a case against Shiv Sena's Delhi unit president Jai Bhagwan Goyal for being the 'mastermind' behind Thursday's incident at the Mohali cricket ground.

Deputy Inspector General, Ludhiana Range, Praj Jain said a case of conspiracy was registered against Goyal under Section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.

He said that police would seek an arrest warrant against Goyal.

On Thursday, a handful of Shiv Sena activists caused minor damage to the pitch at PCA ground, scheduled to host the first Test between arch rivals India and Pakistan next month. Six of them were arrested.
