Just as they did during the general elections of 2014, Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal will clash in Varanasi on February 22 when the two of them will attend the celebrations of the birth anniversary of Dalit saint Ravidas.

Both of them had contested the Lok Sabha polls from the constituency where PM Modi emerged as the winner. Since then, PM Modi had visited the city several times whereas, it will the Delhi CM’s first visit after then.

While Modi is proposed to address a public gathering of Ravidas followers near the temple, the Aam Aami Party UP unit has not yet received a detailed programme from Kejriwal.

In view of Punjab assembly polls, Ravidas Jayanti is significant as lakhs of Sikh followers (Ramdasia Sikhs) from across the country are likely to come to the city on this occasion.

Aam Aadmi Party has already its plans to contest the forthcoming Punjab assembly polls.
