A moderate intensity earthquake jolted Kashmir valley early on Tuesday. However, no loss of life or property was reported from anywhere, according to officials.

The earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale occurred at 3.29 am, according to a local meteorological office.

The earthquake with epicenter in the Pakistan region jolted the people as they rushed out of their homes in panic.

The tremors were felt as people finished sahri, the predawn meal during the holy month of Ramzan, to begin their fast.
