An earthquake jolted residents of Guwahati and its adjoining areas out of their homes at around 8.30 pm on Sunday.
The medium-intensity tremor which was felt Guwahati and various parts of Assam, lasted only few seconds. There was no immediate report of any damage to lives and property. Details are awaited.
It happens to be the fourth quake rocking Assam in the current month. The earlier ones occurred on May 1, May 4 and May 11 with magnitude of 3.8, 4.4 and 5.4 as measured in the Richter Scale.
