Militants late on Friday night gunned down a father and his son in Rajwar area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district.

A senior police official said that militants barged into the house of Ghulam Rasool, a villager, and opened indiscriminate fire at the inmates killing Rasool and his son, a teacher by profession.

Senior police officials have rushed to the spot, and security forces have conducted search operations in and around the village, the official added.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the killing of the father-son duo.
