In order to bring international attention to the plight of displaced children across the globe, the Good Chance theatre based in the UK and the Handspring Puppet Company in South Africa created a giant puppet depicting Amal.
The 3.5 metre-tall Amal is the artwork of a young Syrian refugee child.
Amal is on a journey of 8,000 km from Turkey through Europe in a project called 'Walk with Amal'.
