Former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Saturday announced to launch a new political front -- Hindustani Awam Morcha -- to counter Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his party Janata Dal-United in the state ahead of next state assembly polls later this year.

“Finally, we have decided to work under the banner of HAM after discussion with supporters and sympathisers including former ministers,” Manjhi, who was expelled from the JD-U before he resigned last week, said at a meeting of his supporters and sympathisers in Patna.

Manjhi said that he along with his supporters would work together to expose real face of chief minister Nitish Kumar and JD-U.

Manjhi also targeted Nitish Kumar by saying that that he had worked as chief minister only for twelve days of his nine months as chief minister.

“It is fact that i was chief minister for nine months but for name sake only, i actually worked only for 12 days from Feb 7 to 19,” Manjhi said.

Manjhi is likely to launch a new party in April. He is also set to undertake an extensive tour of different parts of the state to tell people about why he was removed.
