Suspected Kuki terrorists have abducted the Deputy General Manager of the Bharat Sanchar Nagar Limited [Manipur branch], J Lumkim, from Molnom area in Thoubal district of Manipur, official sources said on Thursday.
The terrorists took away Lumkim at gunpoint on February 18 while he was going to attend a social function.
A senior security official requesting anonymity said that the abductors demanded a ransom of Rs30 lakh.
Official sources said police and paramilitary forces have been deployed at different places to trace Lumkim.
Suspected Kuki terrorists had abducted the additional chief engineer of irrigation department, Ibotomba Singh, and some Food Corporation of India officials about a month ago from different places.
