A 30-year-old man was brutally murdered in Thane, Maharashtra, following a dispute, leading to the swift arrest of the three accused involved in the fatal attack.
A 30-year-old man was brutally attacked and killed by three persons over a dispute in Maharashtra's Thane district, police said on Saturday.
The police arrested the accused within hours of the attack that occurred in the Mharalgaon area of Kalyan taluka late on Friday night, an official said.
The victim, Ravindra alias Pintaya alias Dokya Yashwant Ahire, was cornered by the accused, Deepak Sukhdev Dange, Vijay Bhide and Parshuram Bhide, at the Malkhamb Compound around 9 pm, Inspector Mukesh Dhage of the Kalyan taluka police station said.
He said that the victim had a dispute with Dange and had planned to lodge a police complaint against him.
Irked by the development, the trio intercepted Ravindra and attacked him with sharp-edged weapons, repeatedly stabbing him on his stomach, head, side and face, killing him on the spot, the official said.
The accused were apprehended following a complaint lodged by the victim's brother, and a case has been registered against them under sections 103(1) (murder) and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
