Amid a debate on the issue of presidential candidate, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The Trinamool Congress chief had on Thursday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and is believed to have discussed the possible candidate for Presidential polls due in July.
Banerjee reached the Race Course Road residence of Dr Singh on Friday evening.
At the meeting, she is understood to have also sought a three-year moratorium on repayment of loan to the Centre.
Her meeting with the prime minister also assumes significance as it comes on the eve of the meeting of chief ministers on the contentious National Centre for Counter Terrorism.
She has been vocal in her opposition to the anti-terror organisation, terming it as being against the principles of the federal structure.
