Major reshuffle in Maharashtra police

For the first time, Mumbai's Crime Branch will be headed by a lady police officer when Meera Borwankar takes over from Joint Commissioner of Police Satya Pal Singh as part of a major reshuffle in the Maharashtra police set up in which at least 53 senior police officials were transferred.

Satya Pal Singh will be new Inspector General of Police of Konkan Range while Pravin Dixit, who has returned from central deputation, will replace Borwankar as Deputy Director of the Pune-based Yeshwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration.

Commissioner (Government Railway Police) Shrikant Sawarkar has been promoted and posted as IGP (Law and Order) while Commandant, SRPF (Amravati) S A Khopade has been promoted as DIG and will be the new GRP commissioner at Mumbai.

DCP Himashu Roy of Mumbai has been promoted as DIG and posted as Police Commissioner (Nashik) in place of P T Lohar, who has been promoted and posted as ADGP (Wireless).

ADGP (Special Training) P P Shrivastava will be the new Principal Secretary (Home). ADGP A V Parasnis has been posted as ADGP (ACB) on promotion. K P Raghuvanshi will head the newly formed Anti-Terrorist Squad.

Commissioner of Police (Solapur) V D Mishra has been promoted as IGP and posted as Joint Commissioner (Intelligence) at Nagpur.
