Bihar's CID chargesheeted men in lynching case

The Crime Investigation Department of the Bihar police has filed a charge sheet against 10 persons accused of lynching 10 men from the Nat community.

On September 13, the 10 men were lynched on the suspicion that they were thieves.

Sources in police headquarters in Patna told rediff.com on Thursday that the CID has filed the charge sheet in the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Hajipur court in Vaishali district.

The 10 men were lynched in Dhelpurwa village under Rajpakar police station in Vaishali district on September 13 by a mob of villagers.

The police had already attached the property of all the ten accused after the court issued non-bailable warrants against them. All of them are absconding till now.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday assured the victims widows, who met him at his janata darbar, to provide compensation of Rs 1 lakh each and land in the Indira Awas Yojna.
