Sending Modi to Pakistan the best medicine for him: Lalu

Latching on to a Pakistan minister's "destabilisation" remark against Narendra Modi, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad on Thursday said that the BJP prime ministerial candidate should be sent to Pakistan.

Lalu said that sending Modi to Pakistan was the "best medicine" for him.

"Send Narendra Modi to Pakistan, then only any question of destabilisation will arise. His people talk about sending others to Pakistan, we should send him instead," Prasad told media persons.

He was reacting to Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan's statement that Modi's election as prime minister will destabilise the region.

With the Election Commission slapping two cases against Modi for violating the model code of conduct, Lalu prescribed Pakistan as the medicine for everything related to the BJP leader.

"First send Modi to Pakistan. This is the best medicine for him. We will think about EC FIR after that," he said.

Hitting back at the RJD chief for his remarks, BJP spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said, "Why not send Laluji to Pakistan instead? He says he is very popular in that country. It will be a wise decision to send him there."

Rajnath’s query for Lalu

BJP president Rajnath Singh on Thursday wondered why the RJD chief was 'afraid' of the Congress and still supporting it despite knowing that it was responsible for price rise and rampant corruption.

"Why are you afraid of Congress? ... Lalu ji knows fully well that if Congress gets angry at him then what will happen to him," Singh said, apparently referring to the CBI cases against the RJD chief in the fodder scam case while addressing an election rally in Muzaffarpur, which will go to polls on May 7

Prasad, he said, continues to stick to Congress despite knowing that it is responsible for rise of prices of essential commodities and promoted rampant corruption.

A strong government was needed for a strong country.

"Sher ka kaleja chahiye desh ko majbooti se chalane ke liye (you need to have heart of a lion to run the country with a strong hand)," he added.
