Dissolve Andhra Pradesh assembly: Solicitor general

Solicitor General of India Mohan Parasaran has asked the Centre to re-impose President’s Rule in the Andhra Pradesh and the dissolution of the assembly to avoid a constitutional crisis. Parasaran has said that there was no need of summoning both Houses of Parliament to endorse President’s Rule in Andhra.

The Union Cabinet has to take a political decision on the state -- whether to have the state assembly dissolved, or to re-issue the promulgation of the President Rule.

Keeping this in the backdrop, the Union Ministry of law affairs wanted the legal perspective from the solicitor general on Governor E S L Narasimhan’s communication to the President to get the endorsement of the Parliament.

Parasaran had also briefed Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on the legal issues of dissolution of the Andhra Pradesh assembly.
