The President thanks rediff readers

President APJ Abdul Kalam, one of the most popular Heads of State to occupy Rashtrapati Bhavan, turned 75 on October 15. To mark the occasion, we had invited our dear readers to post their birthday wishes on rediff.com.

The response was overwhelming, and we received 4756 responses.

In keeping with our commitment to our readers, the responses were handed over to the President's office in the first
week of November.

And today, President Kalam has sent a personally drafted letter to rediff.com, thanking our readers for the goodwill gesture, which we reproduce alongside.
