Security forces gunned down a Lashkar-e-Tayiba militant in a fierce gun battle in the border district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.
Acting on information about the presence of militants in Poonch district's Soni-top forests, troops of 18 Rashtriya Rifles along with the police launched a search operation in the area on Monday night.
One LeT militant was killed in the gunfight. "The encounter is still underway when reports last came in," said defence PRO S N Acharya.
