Security forces killed a militant belonging to the Lashkar-e-Tayiba in a gun battle in Kathua district, officials said on Wednesday.
Abu Tallah was killed by a team of local police and Special Operation Group in Billawar area in an encounter, they said.
The security personnel cordoned off the area on specific information and asked the militant to surrender.
But he opened fire at the team and in the ensuing gun battle Tallah was killed, officials said.
