Former Railway minister Lalu Prasad was on Sunday elected unopposed as the national president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for the seventh consecutive term.
Party state election officer Jagdanand Singh, an MP, announced the election of Prasad to the party post unopposed at the state party headquarters as only Prasad had filed the papers.
Singh said Prasad would assume the post for the seventh consecutive term on January 31 at the historic Gandhi maidan in Patna.
