An Indian employed with a Dubai-based company was killed in a shootout in Nigeria on Saturday.

Nirmal Narang, deputed to Nigeria 18 months ago, was caught in the crossfire when two gangs were involved in a shoot-out in Festac town, Lagos.

He was shot in the head while traveling in a car with his colleagues.

He was killed hours before he was scheduled to board a flight to Dubai where his wife and daughter reside, a media report said on Thursday.

Narang, who originally hailed from Navi Mumbai, had been the sales representative of an auto spare parts company in Dubai for over six years.

Narang's brother, who lives in London, has flown to Lagos to take the body back to Mumbai, family sources told The Gulf Today.

A colleague of Narang said company officials in Lagos were also making arrangements for repatriating the body.
