Kuwait plane enters no-fly zone in Delhi

November 13, 2006 13:30 IST

A Kuwait Airways plane took a left turn instead of right while taking off on Monday and headed to the no-fly zone in Delhi.

The aircraft had just taken off from runway 01. It was flying from Delhi to Kuwait.

An air traffic controller said the pilot made an error, but the incident does not appear to be a major one.

Still, an inquiry has been ordered into the matter. Cabinet Secretary B K Chaturvedi will meet the National Crises Management Committee later on Monday to review the breach of security.

Official sources said a meeting has also been called by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
