Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj has accepted the resignations of two Bharatiya Janata Party ministers -- Shobha Karandlage and C M Udasi. The two ministers, who had tendered their resignations to Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, will now join B S Yeddyurappa’s Karnataka Janata Party.
Shettar had forwarded the resignations to the governor and shortly after the two met to discuss the crisis in the state.
Thirteen MLAs have decided to quit the BJP, but will have to wait until January 28, the day the Speaker arrives from Bangalore, to submit their resignations.
Although Shettar has told the governor that he will have the required numbers even if 13 MLAs resign, he is likely be told to take a floor test.
