At least six labourers were killed and over 50 feared trapped after an under-construction bridge on the Chambal river collapsed in Kota on Thursday night.
After an overnight halt, the rescue operations have resumed at the site. The army has arrived and is helping in clearing the debris.
The construction task of the 50-metre long bridge had been entrusted to a Korean company.
The reason for the collapse is yet to be ascertained.
State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced an ex gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of those killed and Rs 1 lakh each for the injured.
The state government has also announced an inquiry into the accident.
