Mumbai Police on Thursday claimed that suspected serial killer Ravindra Kantrole had accepted his involvement in seven murder cases in south Mumbai during scientific tests carried out in Bangalore.

"During narco analysis tests, he (Kantrole) has accepted that he was involved in all the cases," a senior police official said.

After conducting some scientific tests in Mumbai, police had received definite leads about Kantrole's involvement in more than one of the murder cases, he said, adding that Kantrole was then taken to the Bangalore Forensic Science Laboratory

for further verification.

Seven cases of murder using a similar modus operandi were registered in the Marine Drive and Azad Maidan police stations between October 2006 and January 2007. The police had formed a special investigation team to probe the instances.

Kantrole had been arrested after blood stained clothes that he allegedly wore and the weapon he allegedly used to commit the murders were recovered from him. He was first arrested on January 22 on charges of house breaking and later booked for the murder. A local court in Mumbai has remanded him to police custody till February 20.
