KCR's apparent damage control came even as the East and West Godavari Bar Association Lawyers Joint Action Committee lodged a police complaint today against him for his remarks about non-Telangana region employees working in state capital Hyderabad.
Speaking at a meet the press programme organised by the Telangana Journalists Forum in Hyderabad, Rao denied making remarks that employees from Andhra have no option but to go back to their native region post-bifurcation. The remarks had triggered a furore.
"Who asked you to go? You will do your administration. You run (administration) for 10 years (as said by Congress). You retire here and buy a flat and be here. We have no objection. We never curse people. We only curse people who curse people," he said. He, however, alleged that Telangana has suffered a lot in terms of jobs, availability of water among other things in united Andhra Pradesh.
The Lawyers' JAC lodged a complaint in Rajahmundry's Three Town police station against KCR, its convener Muppalla Subba Rao said. The JAC also formed a human chain in protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
On Sunday, the East Godavari District Bar Association also demanded that a complaint must be registered against Rao. The lawyers JAC submitted compact discs and newspaper clippings published about the alleged remarks made by Rao on August 2. They demanded that the police register a case against KCR and take action on him, alleging that his remarks would create differences between Telangana and non-Telangana employees in Hyderabad. They also claimed that timely police action helped resolve a clash between Telangana and non-Telangana employees in the Employees State Insurance office in Hyderabad on Saturday.
