Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is an extremely popular leader and his views are being heard with great attention and scrutiny by a large section of Indians, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Arun Jaitley said on Tuesday.
Talking to media persons after meeting party workers in Bengaluru, Jaitley announced that the party will finalise the second list of candidates for the forthcoming Karnataka assembly elections after the central election committee meets in New Delhi later in the evening.
Our campaign for this election is also being planned and all our central leaders and chief ministers will assist the Karnataka unit, Jaitley said.
He, however, did not comment on whether Modi would be BJP’s prime ministerial candidate.
