The BJP legislature party in Karnataka will meet in Bangalore on Wednesday for the first time after the party's central leadership brokered peace between Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and dissidents recently.
Senior party leaders Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, M Venkaiah Naidu and H N Ananth Kumar are also slated to attend the meeting that would take stock of recent developments in the party in the state and chalk out future strategy.
The central party leaders are keen to forge unity among the legislators who sided either with the rebels, led by Ministers from Bellary -- G Karunakara Reddy, G Janardhana Reddy and B Sreeramulu -- or Yeddyurappa.
Since the recent developments strained relations among Cabinet Ministers, the main task before the party was to promote unity, senior leaders said.
The meeting will be held a day after senior party leader Jagadish Shettar was sworn-in as Minister, as per the compromise formula evolved by party's central leadership to end the two-week turmoil that had rocked BJP's only government in the South.
The return of Shettar in the government is being seen as a boost to rebels.
