The Election Commission on Tuesday declared the schedule for the Karnataka bye-election to fill the casual vacancy in the legislative assembly.
The Bellary (ST) assembly constituency has a casual vacancy of 93, which needs to be filled up. Taking into consideration various factors like, festivals, electoral rolls, etc., the commission has put out the following schedule. Notification for the elections will be issued on Friday, November 4, while the last date of making nominations is November 11. The nominations will be scrutinised on November 12.
The EC has declared November 30 as the date of polling between 8 am and 5 pm. The commission has decided to use electronic voting machines in the bye-election.
