A bust of Captain Vikram Batra, Param Vir Chakra, was unveiled at the Palampur military station by his parents Mr G L Batra and Mrs Kamal Kanta Batra on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.
Present on the occasion was Lieutenant General Yogesh Kumar Joshi, who as then Colonel Joshi was 'Shershah' Captain Batra's commanding officer during the Kargil War.
General Joshi is now the Northern Army Commander and will retire from the Indian Army on January 31 after 39 years, 6 months and 19 days of distinguished service.
