Kanchi Seer Vijayendra Saraswathi''s brother R Raghu, Kanchi Mutt manager R Sundaresa Iyer and five others have been booked under the Narcotics Act, agencies in Chennai quoted soures as saying.
Raghu and Sundaresa Iyer were arrested in the Sankararaman murder case.
The case was registered by Chengalpattu police on April 2.
An arrest warrant was served on them on Wednesday.
They have been booked under Section 20(1) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for "contravention in relation to canabis plant and canabis."
