The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging a Madras high court order granting bail to Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati in the Radhakrishnan assault case.
It requested the Bench, headed by Chief Justice R C Lahoti, to hear the Special Leave Petition along with the appeal filed by the seer seeking bail in the Sankararaman murder case.
However, the court refused the request, saying the fresh appeal would be heard separately.
