Chief of the Indian Olympic Association, Suresh Kalmadi, who returned to India along with members of the Indian Asian games contingent from China late on Sunday night, called on the speaker of Lok Sabha Meira Kumar on Monday told her about the performance of Indians athletes in the recently concluded Asian Games and also sought her seek her permission to make a statement on the CWG scam to clear his position.
The meeting between the Speaker and Kalmadi was confirmed by a senior official attached to Kumar in a conversation with
rediff.com, late on Monday night.
According to sources within the Indian Olympic Association, Kalmadi was not feeling comfortable ever since he came to know that one of his close aides, who are now in Central Bureau of Investigation custody had named him in the CWG scam.
