President A P J Abdul Kalam on Tuesday night congratulated Major Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore for winning the silver medal in the double trap shooting event at the Olympic games in Athens.
"You have done the nation proud by winning the silver medal in the double-trap shooting event," the congratulatory message sent to Rathore said.
In the message sent through the Indian Ambassador to Greece, Kalam said, "This is a reward for your hard work, which has brought unprecedented joy to the entire nation."
The President wished other participants success in the upcoming events. Rathore created history by winning independent India's first ever individual silver medal in the Olympic Games.
