Less than a week before he steps down as the President of India, A P J Abdul Kalam has not yet made a final decision whether he will like to stay in the capital or head for Chennai as was indicated in some reports.
According to sources in the Rashtrapati Bhavan, it is sure that Kalam won't go to the 10 Rajaji Marg duplex flat chosen for his stay in the capital, as it is not yet ready from the security angle and requires a lot of renovation.
Intelligence agencies have ear marked some guest houses in the capital for President Kalam after he departs from Rashtrapati
Bhavan.
"Till his close circle advisors tell us what he wants, we are on tenterhooks. But we would have to decide on our own in case he takes longer," an intelligence officer told
rediff.com.
Before taking over as the President, Kalam was staying in a guest house in Asiad village but having raised his profile in last five years, it will not easy for him to stay at a known address where people will gather around him.
The outgoing President has invited school children for an interaction at India's well known address before he bids farewell on July 25 after the 13th President takes over from him.
