Thirteen militants were killed on Tuesday in a fierce gun battle with the army in a forest in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, defence sources in Jammu said.
The pre-dawn gunbattle broke out when the army, acting on specific information about the presence of militants, reached Hillkaka in Surankote forest belt of the district.
The encounter lasted for several hours, the sources said.
