Seventeen members of a family, that had moved to Pakistan occupied Kashmir in 1990, crossed the Line of Control on Friday to return to their home in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.
A senior police officer said that the family comprising three men, four women and ten children crossed over to the Indian side of the Line of Control in north Kashmir's Uri sector on Friday afternoon to return to their homes.
The family had crossed over to PoK in 1990 and had been living there since.
"Ten children, four women and three men crossed the LOC at Gohalan today to return to their homes in Uri. These people have been camping at the LOC for the last two days and they refused to go back. We are now establishing their credentials before a final decision is taken about whether they would be allowed to return to their home and start a new life there," a senior police officer in Baramulla told rediff.com.
