At least seven persons were injured when a militant threw a grenade at the security forces in Baramulla district on Tuesday, officials said.
The incident happened at Azadgunj area of the town, which is 55 km from Srinagar, around 11 am.
The forces immediately sealed the area and launched a combing operation to nab the culprits.
No militant outfit has, so far, owned responsibility for the act.
