A woman and a boy were killed, and 20 other civilians wounded, when a hand grenade, allegedly hurled by militants, exploded outside a local dervish's residence in a north Kashmir town.
According to the police, militants detonated a powerful grenade outside a dervish's residence in Sopore on Thursday afternoon.
"One woman and a local boy were killed in the explosion while 20 others received splinter injuries. Fourteen of the critically injured have been brought to Srinagar city for specialised treatment," a senior police officer said.
Ahad Sahib, a local dervish, is highly revered in the Valley and visited by several devotees.
