One policeman was killed and four injured when terrorists attacked the heavily guarded administrative complex in the border town of Rajouri on Wednesday morning.

A senior police officer in Jammu said security forces have gunned down one terrorist. The rest, he added, have managed to escape .

The complex, in the heart of Rajouri, houses the offices of deputy inspector general of police, Rajouri-Poonch range, district magistrate and district police chief.

Sources said the militants fired indiscriminately on the jawans of the escort party of the range DIG outside the complex critically wounding four policemen.

They were rushed to hospital where one succumbed. The condition of two others is serious. Army troops immediately cordoned off the area and engaged the militants. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
