JK: BSNL employee held for providing fake SIMs to terrorists

The Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested a BSNL employee for providing SIM cards on fake names to the militants in north Kashmir Sopore town.

"Police in Sopore arrested Sajad Ahmad Dar working with BSNL for providing 10 SIM's and one WLL connection to militants of Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit," a police spokesman said.

In a statement the spokesman said 'the accused is a contractual employee with BSNL and IT expert, has been working for Hizbul Mujahideen militant network for about one year'.

"The SIM's and WLL connection so provided have been registered on fake names and addresses, and this was done with in connivance with some other accused who are yet to be arrested," he added.

"A case has been registered in Sopore and investigation into the matter has been set into the process," he added.
