Jet carrying injured Indonesian envoy to Pak lands in India

An air ambulance carrying the Indonesian ambassador, who was injured when a Pakistani military helicopter crashed last week, made an emergency landing in India after the envoy's condition worsened mid-flight, a media report said.

Indonesia's Ambassador to Pakistan, Burhan Mohammad suffered about 75 per cent burns on his body when the chopper carrying him and other diplomats crashed in Naltar area of Gilgit-Baltistan in PoK on May 8.

The Express Tribune reported that the air ambulance took off from Islamabad at 2 pm (local time) carrying the ambassador to his country, but his condition worsened during the flight.

It was not known in which city in India the plane landed and how the envoy was being treated.

The decision to make an emergency landing was taken after communication with the Indonesian and Singaporean governments during the flight.

Pakistan had sought and arranged the air ambulance from Singapore.

The Netherlands' ambassador, who was also injured in the crash, was also flown to his home country on Monday.

The ambassadors of the Philippines and Norway along with the wives of the Indonesian and Malaysian envoys and two pilots and a crew member on board were killed when the MI-17 helicopter crashed
