President APJ Abdul Kalam is seeking legal opinion over the disqualification of Jaya Bachchan from the Rajya Sabha for holding an office of profit while she was a member of the Upper House.
Giving this information, Rashtrapati Bhavan sources denied reports that the President has signed Bachchan's disqualification order. That will come only when he has satisfied himself with the legal opinion, they said.
The President is proceeding on a six-day tour of Mauritius and Myanmar on Wednesday.
