A policeman on Tuesday shot himself at Simdega, superintendent of police M P Lakra said.
Bhagirath Benjamin Murmu, who was posted at the Jaldega police station and hailed from Rajmahal in Sahebganj district, finished his duty, went to his room and shot himself with his service rifle, the SP said.
The reason behind the incident was not yet known, Lakra said.
