In a fresh ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops fired on an Indian post in Mendhar sector of Poonch district on Saturday leaving an army jawan injured.
Pakistani troops, using Light Machine Guns and Medium Machine Guns, fired on Kripan post in Mendhar sector of this border district from 0930 hours to 1030 hours, defence sources said, adding they fired approximately 500 rounds.
However, Indian troops did not retaliate and the firing stopped after 1030 hours.
A jawan, Om Bahadur, sustained bullet wounds in the firing and was hospitalised, they said. Pakistani troops have been violating the ceasefire by opening firing on a few occasions.
On September 21, Pakistani troops had fired nearly 135 rounds on Indian positions in the district.
